Well, today I saw Once Upon A Time In Mexico. It was pretty great. It was mostly enjoyable because Johnny Depp was very random and amusing. It was good because it was funny...otherwise I'm not sure if I would have liked it as much.

I agree with you, Colleen. I only liked the randomness of it. As disturbing as it was, Johnny's eyes make me laugh when I think about them. And Willem Dafoe was kinda funny, too.

Wasted two hours of life last night watching Jurassic Park 2 or 3, don't know which one. Has Jeff Goldblum been good in anything?

In class I was thinking about his crazy shirt and bloody eye sockets and it made me laugh. Ha ha. He is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. Also, Jeff Goldblum has not been good in anything. He only lands roles in moderately reputable movies because he is creepy and people are drawn to morbid aspects of films.

Well, Kimee and I recently volunteered at the San Diego Film Festival. I got to see "Searching For Paradise." It is about a girl who finds out, after father dies, that he had been having an affair with an exotic Italian woman. The girl (Gilda was her name, I think) is also "in love" with an actor and eventually gets to meet him. Unfortunately he "takes advantage of her." That, combined with her discovery that pretty much everyone she cares about has had an affair, leads her to give up on morality and eternal love. It was well-made and interesting and the characters were very believable. Considering it is an independent film, I give it a B+. I also saw "The Married Mens' Club," which chronicles a man's attempt to take his "garage group" to a national level. He and his friends set up a convention in Las Vegas for married men, or "ringers," to become better husbands. During this time, his wife leaves him due to a somewhat complicated side-story and he has to figure out how to win her back. Moderately interesting story idea with two or three hilariously funny moments, but obviously a cheaply-made film (at least I hope it was). I give it a C+. (The + is only because we "know" one of the actors and he was extremely nice.)

And the two funny moments came when a lady in the film got the cork from a champagne bottle shot in her eye, and when the main character had to use a fake breast to feed his infant child, then answered the door with it attached to his chest. The milk inside of it started squirting out uncontrollably, hitting the unsuspecting visitor directly in the eye. Hey, I'm spotting a pattern: Eye injuries are hillarious. Yeah, that guy was really nice, Colleen. Hopefully we'll see him again while walking through downtown, and we will say, "Hey!" as though we're old buddies or something.

And during the squirting, someone kept saying "help me" in a really desperate and confused voice. It was really great. Hey, I'm spotting a pattern: Eye injuries are hillarious. Yeah, that guy was really nice, Colleen. Hopefully we'll see him again while walking through downtown, and we will say, "Hey!" as though we're old buddies or something. Eye injuries are hilarious. And it would be cool to see him again. I'm sure that one day, eventually, we'll be walking around downtown and we'll run into someone from that event. Hmm...I'm thinking now that I should have stolen this poster that had fallen down from the box office wall when we were at Aubergine's. Just as a memento.

Colleen and I just saw "School of Rock" (or, as I like to moronically call it, "Schoolhouse Rock.") starring Jack Black. It was pretty good. There were lots of unintentional funny parts, and the people in the movie theatre were amusing. But the ending was dissapointing, because it was too cheesy. Nonetheless, Jack Black makes me laugh.

Cheesy?!!? What are you talking about? That was the most moving and emotional ending I've seen in years. There was nothing cheap or cheesy about it. I guess you didn't notice me sobbing my eyes out next to you. Those kids learned that they could be commercially successful by "sticking to the man." That's the greatest message I've ever gotten from a movie.
