I started The Treatment in 2003 when I was 18. Probably because of my age, I was overambitious with the forum and added too many topics and took part in too many ploys for easy advertizement. Despite my bad planning, people actually started joining the forum and discussions took off.
The main members on the website became Bulldada, Aeristotle, and Synthax, who checked in nearly every day and tirelessly updated threads. Spurred on by the active conversation, other members also began to post more.
My involvement with the forum, however, was waning. Something I started as a hobby soon lost interest for me and although the site was steadily developing, I began visiting it less and less. I got more caught up with school and the forum topics, which I had once worked so hard to advertize, became difficult for me comment on.
I abandoned The Treatment for nearly 4 years. For a while I checked in occasionally and a few times even posted, but mostly I was absent, eventually going about 2 years without even looking to see if the site still existed.
Recently, I came across the forum again and joked with my boyfriend about the possibility of fixing it up and running it again. Somehow, that joke became reality and I spent a lot of time revamping the site - editing my amateur HTML, fixing archaic links, deleting years of spam, and fine-tuning the board topics to things that did well previously and that I have personal interest in (so I actually have things to post about).
I currently have a new staff, but Bulldada, Aeristotle, and Synthax are always welcome back to their old Global Moderator positions.
The Treatment has gotten cleaned up and simplified. I have no more desire to partake in endless guerilla advertizing campaigns or to force uninteresting threads. The Treatment is starting over on a more relaxed, prepared, and experienced note.
