Currently, my two favorite movies are Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas and Donnie Darko. What are everyone else's favorites? What do you think are the best movies ever made?

My favorite movie is The Sting. I love movies from the 70s like The French Connection, The Hot Rock, The Getaway, etc. Hackman, Redford, and McQueen are beyond compare.

Wow. Yeah, those moveis are really great, though I never thought about it much before. I think the current counterpart of that "movement" would be the stuff by Tarantino, Ritchie, etc...even though they utilize sort of opposite filming styles. They were both new, "artsy" ways to make a "crime caper." Or maybe not, but there are some underlying elements that link them...at least in my mind.

David Lynch I thought about this one for a while and there is just too many great movies. Maybe narrow the field down. Like best movie of a certain genre.

I think Ritchie could be great - but LSATSB and Snatch are way too closely tied together in every aspect and he hasn't done anything good since he met Madonna. Maybe they'll get divorced soon... Also Lynch is good. I think he has a great style, but I don't get the whole soap opera popularity of Twin Peaks. Maybe I'm out of the loop.

I don't know if your suppose to get Lynch. I don't claim to understand what his movies are about, its the simple pleasure of the discussion afterwards that make his movies interesting to me. After watching cookie-cutter movies the discussions last about ten minutes then it's on to the next POS. I guess the fun of a Lynch film is trying to figure it out. All his movies seem to be on the verge of making since but then he throws you for a loop. I'll end up thinking about them for months.

Yes... here is a link to the IMDB site. There is a review there which complains, "Korine doesn't bother with character development, plot, structure, memorable dialogue, or anything else people usually value in film..." that I find pretty amusing. I have seen other sites on it, but I don't remember what they were. Also, he apparently wrote a book called A Crack Up At The Race Riots and another called Pass The Bitch Chicken. Or rather, he didn't write them, but illustrated(?) them. Or something... They are not your classic "novels," but what would you expect from Harmony?

Yes...the second book was not called Pass The Pregnant Dog Chicken, it was called Pass The B**ch Chicken. I will try to turn that censoring thing off.
